Orange Shirt Day

Orange Shirt Day

September has been a very busy month as we geared up for Orange Shirt Day that was held on Friday September 29th to honour residential school survivors and remember those who did not survive the residential school system.  We had a school-wide assembly that included a candlelight memorial.  As well, on Friday, our volleyball teams wore orange shirts during their matches to show their respect for residential school survivors.

Peace High will be continuing our tradition of a fall sweat lodge with a two day event held on Oct 10st and 11th.

Aboriginal Studies 30 students became involved in the community by helping prepare for the annual Sisters in Spirit event.  We would like to invite students, staff, and members of the community to join us at the Peace River Museum at 4:30pm on Wednesday October 4th for the annual Sisters in Spirit walk when we remember all the Indigenous women in Canada who have gone missing or been murdered.  Show support for local families who have lost people close to them and call for an end to the violence.
